In this post I’m revealing my reading goal for 2020, what my reading goal was this year and why I chose this goal.
This year (2019) I had a reading goal of 20 books. To complete this goal I still have to read 2 books. I chose this goal because I often have a reading slump. I will read a really good book and will keep thinking about it for weeks. In those weeks I can’t read any other book. I hate these kind of slumps so I decided not to aim high with my reading goal.
In the first half of the year I only read 2 books because I had so much stuff going on, so much tasks for school and I just wasn’t really feeling reading if I’m being honest. I really started reading again in July when I started working. I was working as a receptionist and I had a lot of time to kill so I decided I would read to pass the time. This really ignited my love for books and I have been reading non-stop since.
I also started my blog this year and started a Bookstagram, so all those elements kept my love for books alive. I still have to read 2 books to get to my goal, but I’m positive I’ll get there.
For next year I want to aim higher. I have an internship in Ghent and will have to commute daily, so that gives me time to read! One hour in the morning and one in the evening. The perfect time!
I do want to keep my goal realistic. I’m not someone who reads 3 books a week. I love reading, but I want to take my time. I want to enjoy each book as much as possible.
So after a lot of thought and consideration I decided I’m going with the goals of reading 35 books in 2020. I can’t wait to start reading!
